anyway, ahJin and i came up with this silly idea that we simply had to give ourselves a laugh at ahKeong's expense on his own special day.
so. www.love.com.my was the focus of our prank. or more precisely, this ::
it HAD to be red roses of course. the redder the better. and 36 stalks. to make it big enough to cause him to cringe when receiving it at his office. YES his office. where he's the country manager.
the message from his 'silent admirer' went something like this ::
watching you from afar,
i would like a chance to know you,
to be your friend, and maybe more.
happy birthday.
so corny. tell me about it.
so anyway.
ahKeong only went to work at 3.30 msian time. it was already 5.30pm my time..!! and by that time, we didn't know if he's gotten the flowers, or took the day off, or was so embarrased by the whole thing that he ddn't even want to respond to our emails and sms-s of well wishes.
finally. later at night. i got his sms. he said he received 36 stalks of roses anonymously. and that his gf was pissed because he didn't know who sent it to him. (yes you'd better believe that we share these things with each other!!)(we were the ultimate gossip partners!!)

seriously.
so i typed a frantic sms to ahJin. asking and basically yelling at him (virtually) to tell the birthday boy the whole truth. (of course we had to laugh our heads off in between as well)(but still, it WAS 8pm msian time. and if they don't patch things up there won't be a celebratory dinner!!)
eventually it all ended quite well. ahKeong could always take a joke. and what better way to assert ourselves on him than plonking one big bunch of blood red roses on a guy. you see, we didn't really believe in 'its the thought that counts'. we belived in combined forces from penang and melbourne all the way to cyberjaya.
